Hey all
A friend just told me that Cybernet told him there is a Switzerlandwide Internet Problem.
Does anybody know something?
Cheers

Hallo zusammen,
habt ihr schon das Papier der AGUR12 gelesen?
https://www.ige.ch/fileadmin/user_upload/Urheberrecht/d/Schlussbericht_der_…
Meinungen?
Schöne Grüsse

Hi List
I'm trying to debug a fiber connection between two datacenters in
Zurich. Unfortunately the other companies involved are not very
responsive. And please bear with me, I am not a network engineer, I am
just the poor guy who got this thingie on his desk...
Here is what I am trying to achieve:
In each datacenter we got an Arista DCS-7050T-52 with each an SFP
1000BASE-LX which supports up to 10km links on single-mode and 550m on
multi-mode fiber.
We got a 1Gbps "dedicated Layer2 Connection incl. Managed Switch" from
Init7. As far as I know, they are using Sunrise as partner to provide
the connection. We are connecting to a SMF with 1310nm.
If I put everything together, I still see a "notconnect" on the
switchport.
Unfortunately the "Platin" support seems to be more like "Bronze", we do
not get a proper response right now.
Currently I can't tell if there is something wrong within our setup or
within the setup of our provider.
I would like to get a third party with a proper testing device (and more
experience than me) to meet me in the datacenter(s) and help me to find
evidence what the heck is going on.
Best regards,
Andre Timmermann

Today, I discovered, that emails whose envelope sender matched the DNS SPF
record, but whose From: Header did not (like after the envelope sender has
being rewritten by SRS) were rejected by a hosted exchange server provider.
I got in contact with that admin and he told me that this was the way the SPF
check works in the Microsoft Exchange Forefront Server.
Well, according to the RFC 4408 only HELO or MAIL FROM are being considered
for SPF. Not the From: header.
Is there anyone out there who can confirm, that Microsoft Exchange Forefront
Server realy has such a broken SPF implementation. Or did the exchange admin
just misconfigure his server?
Mit freundlichen Grüssen
Benoit Panizzon
