Hey all
A friend just told me that Cybernet told him there is a Switzerlandwide Internet Problem.
Does anybody know something?
Cheers

Anforderungen:
Beispiel Inhalt Webseite/Statusseite:
enGruess, Andy Christen

Is anyone familiar with 3G repeater gear? I'm asking for a neighbor whose family owns a cottage in a Swiss mountain valley with poor 3G reception.
Any recommendation for gear which is easily installable, more or less plug-n-play, not too expensive (less than CHF 1000) and last but not least legal to operate would be appreciated.

Hi,
we have a strange issue with a not that special setup.
we have customers that run basically an IPv6-only infrastructure with
some ipv4 reverse proxies in front of the services that need to be
publicly available. Some of these internal services can be accessed
using a VPN. The VPN connection will provide a static IPv6 address for
the client and a route to the ipv6 only servers will be pushed so
traffic goes through the VPN.
In chrome the above does not work if the client has no global IPv6
access (i.e. an IPv6 default route). It just does not resolve AAAA
records as it seems, because access with literals (such as
http://[2001:db8::1]) works.
Does anybody know if there is a knob to alter this behavior? Other
tested browsers are Firefox, Opera, Midori and Lynx which seem to work fine.
PS: sorry I could not come up with a better subject :-)
Regards
André

Hi
If anyone needs SDSL hardware or knows where such would be appreciated
(perhaps as a donation to a developing market?) please let me know.
I have about 40 SDSL modems to give away, mostly Ascom COLT, but some
others.
Kind regards
Anthony

Hey .*,
Many, many, many thanks everybody for the offers, you are
all great!
We will collect a rack this/next week from someone in Glattbrugg
(not sure if it is ok to say who it is, so just naming the location),
but the reactions on my mail were just awesome!
It is great to read all of you again and I look forward meeting
you in person soon again!
Cheers,
Nico
p.s.: I will pay for a round at the next meeting I attend!
If you want to join me for a drink before, my location
is nearby 서울 for some time.

Hey .*,
do you by chance have a 19" rack you don't need anymore
(maybe even nearby Zurich)?
A customer of mine needs "something", because of some regulations
to put in two (!) units from Swisscom. And it should be a full height
(not like 21 units) rack.
Just wondering - please reply offlist, if you have something
you want to get rid of.
Cheers,
Nico

hi all,
just in case, might be interesting to some of you -- here I described a process of building a Linux box with 3G connectivity for remote management, network tests, VPN fallback, and so on. The box has also the possibility to add a WiFi adapter with an antenna:
