Project of cooperation between Swiss ISPs

Dear SwiNOGers, This is a short message targeting small and medium Swiss-based Internet Service Providers. A few days ago I started reaching out a few ISPs, mostly in the region of Zurich/Zug/Bern/Basel, to discuss the possibility of a smart collaboration in a “cooperative” and “constructive” way. I actually wanted to check out if there was any enthusiasm on the idea of building together a network to reach major European Internet Exchange, buy Transit in bulk, peer with larger networks and setup a larger DDoS mitigation service. The idea came when I saw that many smaller ISPs deploy the same type of network, seeking the same advantages and struggle to deploy a wider reach outside Switzerland due mostly to a lack of available manpower or financial backing. Amongst a more human collaboration between tenants, various cross-business opportunities, the idea is to collaborate on: - Establishing a privileged network of trusted companies and people - Enhancing IP Transit Connectivity quality and costs by playing on larger value scales - Enhancing IP Peering Connectivity by reaching various European IXs over the same infrastructure - Enhancing campus-interconnection in Zurich by lowering costs for inter-DC connectivity in Zurich (DWDM/DF) by sharing the same infrastructure - Build and share a larger DDoS mitigation platform These challenges are part of day-to-day hassles that every ISPs companies have to deal. Scepticism of a working business-model has been highlighted by various interested parties. Other topics such as IP Transit rates erosion costs vs. high transport costs and port-fees have been thoroughly considered too. T-Mobile US can not reach us any idea? contact?

Hi everyone, I know there is possibly no one around here from T-Mobile US. Maybe someone has a contact to T-Mobile US that can possibly have a look into this? I've tried some official e-mail address from whois information months ago but no response. We are AS198288 and our prefix 5.34.248.0/21 has only limited reachability from / to T-Mobile US (mobile / hotspots users and t-mobile website / e-mail). It's no routing issue I guess as traceroutes / ping work. I was in the US a week ago and also had a T-Mobile 4G contract phone. Same issue, ICMP works, TCP / UDP gets blocked to 5.34.248.0/21. I actually think there are some legacy filters in place, maybe they used 5.0.0.0/8 as "private addresses" in the past. Anyone with an idea or a contact to T-Mobile welcome. hi, I'm looking for a Swiss supplier that would offer fanless server appliances, as follows: * 19" rack mount, 1RU high * Fanless design (no moving parts), ability to operate in a normal room environment (25C or so) * Modern CPU, like Core i5 or i7, or some latest-generation ARM, or maybe even MIPS architecture of comparable performance * Graphical performance is non-important, a standard VGA is fine, serial or USB console is even better * Two SSD hard drives. Probably a RAID controller, but also fine without it * Support for 2 or more GB RAM * Two or more 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports * Linux support for all hardware components * 1-2 years warranty, replacement within a week by post. Anyone an idea what GeoIP source Google is using and how to tell Google to fix the location? Daher hat Swisscom vor drei Jahren begonnen, einen neuen Filter für den Mailverkehr ihrer DSL-Privatkunden einzusetzen. Swisscom setzt dessen Implementierung ab Juni dieses Jahres schrittweise fort um das Spam-Aufkommen weiter einzudämmen. Mit dem Abschluss der Einführung wird bis voraussichtlich März 2014 gerechnet. Swisscom geht davon aus, dass rund 98 Prozent aller Kunden nichts von der Umstellung bemerken werden. Einzig Swisscom Privatkunden, die für ihre ausgehenden E-Mails den Server eines anderen Anbieters verwenden und dabei die SMTP-Authentifizierung auf dem Port 25 nutzen, müssen neu ihre E-Mail-Einstellungen beim Postausgangsserver (SMTP) von Port 25 auf den dafür vorgesehenen Port 587 ändern. Betroffene Kunden werden mittels einer Fehlermeldung darauf hingewiesen und auf eine Hilfeseite von Swisscom geleitet, sodass sie die nötigen Einstellungen eigenhändig vornehmen können. Es ist jedoch nicht auszuschliessen, dass einzelne Kunden persönlichen Support bevorzugen und sich deshalb an den Anbieter ihres E-Mailkontos wenden. Only residential Swisscom customers who use an outside provider's server for their outgoing e-mails in conjunction with SMTP authentication on Port 25 will be required to adjust their e-mail settings for the outgoing post server (SMTP) from Port 25 to Port 587. Affected customers will be notified with an error message, which will lead them to Swisscom’s Help page where they can make the necessary adjustments themselves. It is quite possible that some customers preferring personal, individual support will contact their e-mail account provider. Strafanklage gegen Schweizer Spamer

Hallo zusammen, Ich bin zur Zeit an einer Strafanzeige wegen versendung von Spams an folgende Personen einzureichen: Herrn Dr.Erb (ist leider Jurist, deshalb hat die Staatsanwaltschaft sehr grosse Angst) sowie gegen die AntifeministenZeitung... Die Person bin ich noch am Ermitteln, aber die Staatsanwaltschaft müsste wissen wer dahinter steckt. Diese Leute nerven wegen den Spams besonders. Beim letzten Versuch konnte ich nur 10 geschädigte der Staatsanwaltschaft geben. Darauf meinte die Staatsanwaltschaft es ist nicht bewiesen dass ein Spam verschickt wurde. Da ich aus Datenschutzgründen nicht einfach die Logfiles unserer Server beilegen konnte, möchte ich, dass andere Betroffen mir eine Kopie von einer dieser Mails mit Header zustellen. Das Ziel ist das ich der Staatsanwaltschaft etwa 100 bis 1000 Mails übergeben kann. Ich denke dann muss die Staaatsanwaltschaft eine Anzeige machen. Ich danke für Eure Mithilfe gegen Spam im Voraus.
