Daher hat Swisscom vor drei Jahren begonnen, einen neuen Filter für den Mailverkehr ihrer DSL-Privatkunden einzusetzen. Swisscom setzt dessen Implementierung ab Juni dieses Jahres schrittweise fort um das Spam-Aufkommen weiter einzudämmen. Mit dem Abschluss der Einführung wird bis voraussichtlich März 2014 gerechnet. Swisscom geht davon aus, dass rund 98 Prozent aller Kunden nichts von der Umstellung bemerken werden. Einzig Swisscom Privatkunden, die für ihre ausgehenden E-Mails den Server eines anderen Anbieters verwenden und dabei die SMTP-Authentifizierung auf dem Port 25 nutzen, müssen neu ihre E-Mail-Einstellungen beim Postausgangsserver (SMTP) von Port 25 auf den dafür vorgesehenen Port 587 ändern. Betroffene Kunden werden mittels einer Fehlermeldung darauf hingewiesen und auf eine Hilfeseite von Swisscom geleitet, sodass sie die nötigen Einstellungen eigenhändig vornehmen können. Es ist jedoch nicht auszuschliessen, dass einzelne Kunden persönlichen Support bevorzugen und sich deshalb an den Anbieter ihres E-Mailkontos wenden. Diesen Kunden kann für Hilfeleistungen die folgende Swisscom Seite empfohlen werden: http://www.swisscom.ch/p25/. Replacement Fan for C2950-T-24?

Does anyone know a good source for replacement fans for the Cisco 2950-T-24? A "silent" version would be preferred. The fan is 40x20mm and has a 3-pin connector. Yes, I've already checked Digitec but they don't seem to have anything that matches. Thanks -- Andre

DDOS DNS Attack by Netgear Products caused by CNAME instead of A record?

Heyo! Any others who are being affected? It looks like our customers Netgear routers (known ones: WNR3500Lv2, WNDR4500) are asking our DNS Server for the A record of: time-g.netgear.com or time- a.netgear.com Instead of an A record reply, they get a CNAME as answer with additional information the A record of that CNAME. That is what netgear has published on their DNS Servers. Those routers are not happy with that reply and just start sending several hundred requests per second for A time-g.netgear.com resulting in considerable load and traffic on our DNS caches. Some customers have already transfered 35GB of DNS traffic, only since today midnight. I have contacted netgear technical support. The issue is yet unknown to them. They got my pcap files to analyze :-) Any others observing that behaviour of netgear products? Any know remedies? As of July 1st 2013 the time has come. SWITCH will block NTP-access at the border to Swiss NRENs so that commercial users and universities/ technical colleges (outside Swiss NRENs) will no longer be able to access swisstime.ethz.ch as a time server. Transparent 1Gig Ethernet over IP/Ethernet?

Hi all, I need to transparently (especially LACP frames) transport a gigabit ethernet link with at least 1500 MTU over either IP or Ethernet. Jumbo frames are enabled on the L2 transport backbone. While I need "full" (some encap overhead will be acceptable) GigE wire speed, encryption is unnecessary. Can anyone suggest a product -ideally some low-maintenance, high-reliability, perhaps ASIC-based hardware- that can do this?
