What you say is true. But that's not what this new ADSL product's target customers do with Internet. I think more of people like "my mother" (tm) who turn on the 'puter once a week to receive *one* email from her friend and then once a month to do their telebanking stuff. People like this actually exist, and that's a good product for them. They will never reach the 49.-/month that a 600/100 costs. That's why we are also offering this product :-)

Hi

Many customer won't pay 40 francs per month just for a bit surfing or for
download e-mail.
Users comming from Dial-In they would like this new offer.
We also have such an offer and believe me, that's very popular!

Hello everyone,
I just read that Netgear proposes a firmware upgrade for their routers
to support ADSL2+ and in Germany ISP are overbidding themselves with
always increasing bandwidths.
Does anyone have reliable information about what swiss broadband ISPs
plan to offer in the next future?
Regards,
Jean-Pierre

lastmile = swisscom, so no overbidding with bandwidths in switzerland.

don't talk about "swiss broadband ISPs". it's only swisscom, who's offering any service. the "swiss broadband ISPs" are only resellers of swisscom's service.
as far as i know swisscom never talked about ADSL2+ but used words like SDSL and maybe VDSL...
so, let us see what the future brings us...

Could the list admin contact directly Tan at tan(a)nguyen.ch ?
He would like to change his existing subscribed e-mail and therefore
solve the "out-of-office" reply.
Thanks

Hello List
This may be offtopic. I tried my luck with different electronic stores but they
all send back their NT-BAs to Swisscom.
Maybe you know where I can get an old NT. I'm using it to connect an ISDN phone
to an asterisk Server (Diva Server 4BRI). I need to feed the fone with power
because the ISDN card can't do so.
I heard that many Telcos and ISPs sit on their old NTs or throwing them away. So
maybe one on this list could sell me one.
Thanks for your help.

Nah, but we could verify that on two locations. It seems, that
we have to spend some more time on this ;-)
