On some mail servers under my (co-)responsability, the DSBL blacklist is used on smtp-server level to try to fight a little bit against spam.
Problem: some customers online via gprs are unable to send mails over these servers, because their external visible IP adress (gprs01.swisscom-mobile.ch: 193.247.250.1) is blacklisted on several lists:

We asked swisscom why they don't try to get away from these lists, but the answer is that we should rather whitelist them: "Die grösseren Schweizer Internet Service Anbieter haben sich vielmehr darauf geeinigt, die IP Nummern von Zugangsanbietern wie Swisscom Mobile auf ihre WhiteList zu nehmen."...
Do you think it's the correct way to react? :)
Delisting from dsbl.org wouldn't work anyway, at least until abuse or postmaster adresses are created:
Final-Recipient: rfc822;abuse@swisscom-mobile.ch Action: failed
Final-Recipient: rfc822;postmaster@swisscom-mobile.ch Action: failed
General question: are you (the postmasters around) using blacklists like dsbl or spamhaus directely on smtp-level (directely rejecting the mails from listed IP's) or only after (like in spamassassin & co.) ?

Well known fact. We nearly spent hours with swisscom to try to find a solution. Unfortunately they do 'NAT' so they are not able to identify customers sending spam via gprs. It's also inpossible for them to change an ip-address. As far as we found out, each ip-address represents a roaming partner of swisscom.
Swisscom at least sent us the ip-addresses they use for gprs.

grep for 'grps' (sic), maybe it's going to be corrected in a few minutes :-)

I think your problem will not fixed by Take this address on a white List. In other countries they doesn't white list the IP rages... And you have different companies they have their own mailserver. Everybody configurate this self... The best way is when you write to the abuse-Team of Swisscom. (when they not reading this list) And they schould give an other IP Adress to the server or they schould look that this adress will be removed from the blacklists.

SMTP AUTH... User authenticated should be able to bypass any dnsbl list. (delay_checks)

I agree with Rene Luria: SMTP-Auth should always override dns-rbls.
A Swisscom GPRS-Customer is like eg. an ADSL-'dialup' (..dynip) customer: Such a client has absolutely no reason to connect to a 'foreign' (non-swisscom) Mailserver *without* using SMTP-Auth.

Bluewin rejects clients listed on xbl-sbl.spamhaus.org at SMTP-Level (but with a 'soft' error: 451)
