It seems that the Ständerat is not debating about the last mile this spring session:
http://www.parlament.ch/se-sessionsprogramm-sr-fs-2005.pdf
that will likely mean that we wait at least until 2007 or 2008.

I ask myself, what differentiated is... If the last mile is released the chaos with the competence will be only larger.

Hi Xaver
From: "Xaver Aerni"
I ask myself, what differentiated is... If the last mile is released the chaos with the competence will be only larger.
have you ever coordinated a construction-order with swisscom fixnet? For example tried to get a new fiber-cable into a building or ordered just additional copper-lines? That's "my daily business" - I can't hardly imagine a bigger chaos.
It's already that worse - every change within the last-mile infrastructure from "ex-PTT" is an improvment for all in this market. Even the construction workers out there would be glad!.
greetings

Hi all
I'm new to this list so I'd like to send you a short hello.
My name is Salome and I'm a 25 years old lady :) I worked for one year in a network team at HP (configuring Cisco devices and stuff). At the moment I work as a hardware supporter but I don't like it at all, so I decided to quit and now I'm looking for a job in the Cisco environment again.
I subscribed to this list because I hope to meet other networking people and to improve my technical knowledge :)
Hmmm - about the beer event... I'm always interested in beer ;) is it ok when I join?
Kind regards,
Salome

Not too easy, I guess. Occasionally there are job offerings here too (check the archive http://lists.swinog.ch/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/).
BTW swinog is still growing, we have currently 621 subscribers in the list. We maybe should change the term "new" on our website in "not so new anymore" ;-)
*SwiNOG is a new group. New ideas and contributions are always very welcome. Subscribe to the mailing list and get involved!"
