Before sending static "save the dates" out to you for 2017, I want to open a discussion about: - how shall we have the Beerings in 2017? - Still always on Mondays? Suggestions? - Different format? Different locations? Different agenda? - How we attract more Shegeeks?
Discussion is open to everybody. If you contribute and participate, you may really influence the "how it's going to be in 2017". If you don't - you get the beer anyway. :D

hi,
well lots of other events are on mondays, too. a very common used day.
this is my personal reason why I can join only rarely.
I would prefer some other days than monday or tuesday. So best would be wednesdays or thursdays.
what do you think about this ?
shegeeks - sure more would be fine - may more cocktail than beer events :-)

Most and for all, the location should be well reachable by public transport. Until now that was almost always the case. We could start some rating of the locations after the event in order to improve there. Possible rating criteria could be beer choice, service quality, food quality, reachability, atmosphere, price range...

Maybe we should rename to Beer & Cüpli Event? SCNR :-) Based on the percentage of women in IT, the number of ladies joining beer events matches that figure more or less, unfortunately.

More and more ladies drink beer these days (I am not one of them but I would still come if it is called Beer event) But maybe we should add Wine and Cupli choice to the rating criteria

Friday might be better or even sometimes weekend. Maybe the date could be a rolling day...
Also the time was not optimal for me as IT person. It was always at the time when I was most productive and already awaken. ;-) It is hard to leave work in the middle of the day.
So maybe better 20:30 or even 21:00...

I can just talk for myself. It would be best to have a location where I can park. Zürich midtown is not the best location for me..

May I suggest a bit more diversity? Zurich is nice, but there are probably many SwiNOGgers who can't just take a "quick" trip to ZH on a regular working day.
How about Bern, Lausanne, Basel, St. Gallen, or somewhere else once in a while?

In Lausanne, there is - well, at least it was, few years ago - a group of sys-admin and network geeks doing that already every Mondays, the event was called "eachmonday". As I don't live in Lausanne anymore, I don't know if it's still exist. People from Lausanne or Geneva on this list may confirm.
About the Zurich events, and also the remark of Klaus: I work sometimes in Zurich but unfortunately my German is a disaster, is there any non-german speaking people coming sometimes?
