Hi Steven,
Glogger Steven wrote:
sorry freddy, but don't you think you can write
normal e-mails to the
mailinglist or do you just keep on pasting links? are you so keen to
push your motz-blogg on top of the google ranking?
Actually I didn't consider this at all, but thanks for the pointer.
i think, people who wants to read your blogg will do -
and people who
don't want will not. there was a nice invention some time ago called
RSS-feeds.
ACK. RSS feeds are availabe. But I consider the number of clicks as a
real interest - +100 clicks in just one hour after sending the link to
SwiNOG. Obviously not many have subscribed to RSS yet.
i personally thought at the beginning: well, a nice
blogg to cover
the interests of the swiss internet community. but now i have to
admit, that it seems that this is your personal newsletter to gruble
against everyone (aka enemies - i mean 'public' enemies). we all know
now that you don't like sunrise, swisscom, cablecom, solnet, etc.
Wrong. I consider all of them as valuable and respectful competitors,
sometime partners or even friends, too (not the companies, but their
employees). But I consider a fair market with equal opportunities a
necessity. And we all know this is by far not the case in Switzerland.
to take out a short statistic from the last 20 entries
of your blog:
- 1 positive message (wimax)
- 1 neutral message (swinog #11 - ok, we're all alkies ;-))
- 1 ad (multihomed; it's your right - it's your blog :))
- 15 motz, complain and information about
swisscom/sunrise/cablecom/switch/etc.
- 2 informations about (possible) bankrupties
(comparis.ch/webspace4you)
Well, thanks for the statistics. But I have to say that you didn't read
really careful (comparis.ch is _not_ a bankrupt, the ad was not only an
ad, rather a message of Gartner). Those so called 'motz' are much more
information about probably not very nice news, execpt only a few
(Bluewin Liebesbrief for instance).
It's not me who sets most of the topics. You don't blame the
journalist reporting the deads of a hurricane, right? If you cannot
stand the message, you shouldn't shoot the messenger.
the one really funny entry i remember was the one with
the broken
/dev/null device.
It's not my intention to be funny. There are much better sources for fun.
so, please keep in mind that blog's are more or
less personal
diaries. if you want to really discuss swiss network stuff please use
the mailinglist - i will not use your blogg for discussing
internet/swinog related topics.
blogg.ch doesn't have to be only personal. It's - as the subtitle says:
"Insider-Informationen über Schweizer Internet Service Provider.
Entwicklungen und Trends, Gerüchte, Diagnosen und Prognosen."
Consider it as a comment column in a newspaper. I really try to stick to
the truth, but I will always mix my personal opinion to the facts. I
don't consider it as a normal newsticker, and I'd be selective with
topics I consider intersting.
You can agree to my angle of view, or you don't. You can read it, or you
don't. It's really your choice.
I will try only to post really important stuff from blogg.ch to swinog -
as the latest topic (WEKO Verfügung, whole text). This is IMHO an
important topic, unless you don't consider your workplace important.
Hope this clarifies my motivation.
Fredy.
