Strongly recommended, unless the Provider's Backbone is DSCP
transparent...

Subject: [swinog] Reset DSCP/IP-PREC field
HiYa!
Just want to ask you if it is "allowed" to reset the
IP-PRECEDENCE/DSCP-Field to Zero (or any other value) at the border of
an ISP network?
Means there is no problem if an IP-Transit provider reset the customers
IP-PREC/DSCP field because INTERNET is best effort and therefore each
ISP can do with the IP-PREC/DSCP whatever he want's because each ISP has
it's own "QoS-Domain and rules"?
For me resetting the IP-PREC/DSCP is a must concerning security and to
declare Internet-Traffic as BE in internal networks.
Or I am wrong and are there any existing rules in the "ISP" community
relating modifying IP-PREC/DSCP?
Are you resetting the IP-PREC/DSCP as well?
Thanks and greetings,
- Marcel

dear swinogers

please watch out the reg. deadline (saturday, 24.06. at high-noon) .. :)
thanks.
some important words:
======================
since we're reserving at the pumpstation, and officially we're not
allowed to reserve any table there, we have to be really on time.
i have to give up the remaining space around 18:45/18:50. so, if you're
not punctional it might be that your seat is already gone and you'll
organize a new seat by yourself... we've had some troubles with the
restaurant last year because people came too late, we've had an almost
empty table around for about an hour. this is bad for their business and
this is bad for us (no reservations anymore...).
if you're not sure if you'll be on time just drop a note to the comment
field...
the facts for the next event:
-----------------------------
Date: 26th of June 2006
Time: starting around 18.30 o'clock
Location: @lake in restaurant "Pumpstation" (see image;
www.pumpstation.ch)
On Bad weather (will be communicated the same day around noon) we go to
the "Outback" Bahnhof Stadelhofen
Registration deadline: 24.06.06 12:00:00
Registration:
-------------
Please register here: http://swinog.mrmouse.ch/ Since we have to make
reservations, i need to know who's coming and who not. If you cannot
attend and you're registered please inform me asap.

Hi folks,
I am looking for Foundry switch(es), need total of 48 100 or 1000BaseT ports.
Something like EdgeIron 4802 or similar would be sweet. Let me know if you
have something like that around.
Thanks!
Kirill
