sunrise is flooding the world

dear guys from sunrise could anyone forward this message to a mailadmin from sunrise? thanks. flood problem since yesterday: a customer sent a mail with attachement to about 30-40 addresses via sunrise smtp. all of this 30-40 receipients keep getting this mail thousand times since yesterday. sender email is info(a)vsmwh.ch. sunrise support told the customer that it is his problem and is not willing to check the situation :) the customer has isdn dial in and plugged out his modem ;-) i heard that also other guys have the same problem. thanks -- kind regards, Thomas Hug Nine Internet Solutions AG, nine.ch Binzmuehlestrasse 78a, CH-8050 Zuerich Tel +41 44 481 16 42, Fax +41 44 481 16 43

E-mail firewall for an ISP

Hi all, does anyone have any experience with e-mail protection appliances? Ideally this would be a standalone box, serving as an ISP's SMTP relay, with the following functions: -- Detect spam coming from the ISP's customers, and automatically throttle the bandwidth or block SMTP for a given IP address. -- Alert the administrators when the spam or viruses are originating from ISP's network -- Manage the incoming email, and throttle the bandwidth for external IP addresses that send too many SMTP requests -- Built-in antivirus would be a plus -- management web interface with privilege levels -- interesting would be to have per-user spam filtering settings for incoming email... Your advice in choosing or avoiding vendors and solutions is very welcome. Also there should be service providers that outsource such activities. Would be great to know the names as well. thanks in advance, stan
