Hi all
I'm new to this list so I'd like to send you a short hello.
My name is Salome and I'm a 25 years old lady :) I worked for one year in a network team at HP (configuring Cisco devices and stuff). At the moment I work as a hardware supporter but I don't like it at all, so I decided to quit and now I'm looking for a job in the Cisco environment again.
I subscribed to this list because I hope to meet other networking people and to improve my technical knowledge :)
Hmmm - about the beer event... I'm always interested in beer ;) is it ok when I join?
Kind regards,
Salome
Hi Christian
Nicole probably is very happy not to be the only woman anymore :-)
I know the feeling ;)
You are very welcome...
Thanks a lot - so I subscribed :) Even if I don't know anyone of you... but - I'm really looking forward to it!

You can start by having a look at http://swinog.pics.omnis.ch/ :-) Maybe you will recognise some of the people there.
Ah BTW, if our "official" photographer would upload the pics of swinog 9 at the usual place (ftp), I'd be happy to publish them as well :)
cheers, Olivier

think if a woman would join irc.swinog.ch? The #swinog channel would be crowded!
;) That's not the reason why I mentioned my gender... It's just my firstname... sooo many people think that I'm a guy so I started to mention it just at the beginning...
I already got the IRC info :) hm... I'll pass by there - but not today ;)

Uh... Don't know, but after reading 20min this monday and seeing the name of the MusicStar winner, I guess every swiss knows by now, that Salmoe is a female name... :-)
Cheers, Stony

Ever been in an IRC talking to someone pretending to be the opposite gender? ;-) ... a brilliant example is in a current movie called "Closer".

well, every person who has read the news the last couple of days could not have avoided seeing this "Salome" person 'winning' that TV program thingy where people try to sing. Then again, you are right, the picture on that didn't really make it clear if the contestant was male or female, or maybe I should start reading the frontpage of the 20mins instead of skipping it ;)

Well, I know it's in the bible (as my name is, too). But the last thing I expect from techies is that they even have this book :-)

I do have a bible, but it is called HitchHikers Guide To The Galaxy* ;) That other book was only useful to make fun of the very extremely annoying pushing people who wanted to push some silly opinion they had onto one. Those people tend to ignore the cooler (read: "evil") parts of the book they always say to love so much ;)

I love the part about "how to learn to fly" :)
I fear, since I came here you have off topic-day... ;)

Nevertheless the topic of this thread is 'new member :)', including the smiley.

Sure seems like Bush and his buddies are reading the "evil" parts, or at least ignoring most of the teachings of the new testament. Too bad for us.

Nah, you'd wish they read those parts. The good parts are about angels coming down to earth and having fun with da ladies.... and those stories.
But Swinog is not a religion-debate list ;)
