as far as I remember the 7xx Cisco boxes have some other configuration concepts then the other cisco-routers and IOS-switches

Exactly, for example setting LAN you have to type >cd LAN then >LAN:set ip address and so on.
I will check this if evening if with the given Link I can find some information to setup the box.

looks very similar to US Robotics ADSL router CLI commands. And I guess it's vxWorks inside :)
