mirror.switch.ch overloaded?

Hi all. I was just wondering why my favourite source of free software has been overloaded over the past few days. I'm talking about the FTP server of mirror.switch.ch[1]. It seems I cannot login because too many anonymous users are already logged in. Is it some attack or maintenance? Anybody know something? CU, Venty [1] I know http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp does work OK but downloading a couple of files is so much easier when you can use a decent FTP client.

Blacklisted Server

Hallo kann mir jemand sagen ob der Server 81.221.250.116 in gewissen Jugendschutzlisten geblacklist ist oder ob da eher ein Routing Problem besteht... Bitte nicht Lachen... Es geht dabei um die Seite der www.SVP.ch <http://www.svp.ch/> . Die von diversen Kunden nicht erreicht werden kann... Habe 2 Anfragen bekommen... Für Tips wäre ich dankbar... Gruss Xaver

DSL Bit Error Rate (BER) statistics

This is an open question to those of you that run xDSL networks, which is not my case. I'm looking for some real world Bit Error Rate statistics, max vs min and averages of those values that you see in your current xDSL infrastructure. I'm interested in the last mile (DSLAM <-> CPE). Is anyone looking into this to determine the condition/quality of delivered loops and may have built BER data versus loop lenght, noise margin and other DSL related metrics? Thomas
