Greetings from sunny Basel (o;
Has someone a good name for a web application which does the following?
- inventory of network devices (routers/switches/firewalls etc.) - documentation of installation (sites/buildings/rooms/racks/patch panels) - connection inventory (circuits/links/vlans/ips) - iphone optimised web interface for onsite quering data - based on mysql/php/ajax
So far I came up only with:
- Vaijeri (inherited from living three years in finland ;o) - PMC (poor man's cramer, but this would wake up some lawyers ;o)
cheers richard
Hey Rich

Since it's supposed to be built upon PHP and MySQL, I'd suggest ABBIOOUS (A big broken inventory of originally useful stuff).
Or simply GIBI (Good Idea, Bad Implementation)
Tonnerre
NetCurrent or CurrentAssets perhaps? Then a logo playing off the fact that current means both aktuell and strom?

You could use OpenGrocer (Krämer in German). At least if it is OSS which is what everyone hopes here :).
Best, Dani

Maybe KateM-OSS? (synonym for thin oss ;o)
Can't hide the fact I worked and developed interfaces to Kraemer6 (o;
Thanx so far for the suggestions. Just have to decide which one to take and reserve a domain for it to publish first information...could provide some screenshots but it contains customer data with several hundreds of cisco devices here (o;
BTW: Did I miss any feature? I know it lacks a SNMP feature but I just don't have any access to play with (o;

Hmmmm..... cloning what already exists? :)

The iphone interface is a cool idea.
What exactly is documentation of installation? A notes filed or some structured system?

You could add
to the list, does pretty much what Richard is trying to do, too. That is not to say that his effort is pointless, these tools all have some drawbacks and if you have the time to write one that suits you, you definitely should do it :)
May I suggest though that you provide a scriptable API to your tool, whether you publish it or not. You won't like adding more than a dozen devices and 100 IPs over a web interface (no, not even with an iPhone ;)).
