Good afternoon everyone,
Due to some hardware and personel problems, we from the MPlayer team need a new server and hoster/houser for our main server on which both the MPlayer and ffmpeg projects are running.
I'm asking here especialy for a hoster/houser, though a server would be nice too ;)
Please be aware that if you consider helping us that you should have some bandwith reserves because of the large amount of traffic these two projects generate. Ie. it's not something for a small garage hoster. Also note, that because these two projects are non-profit projects, we do not have any founding to pay you for the traffic or hosting/housing.
If you have any questions or suggestions please contact me offlist.
Thanks a lot.

how much BW approx? (in volume/month or average traffic)
Unfortunately, that's something i do not know. The admin didn't make any network statistics.
We did a 5 minute measurement this morning and got about a 5Mbit/s traffic. But i cannot say whether this is average, low or high.
The web only mirror i run here at the ETH makes about 250GByte per month[1], with 10-20% peaks the days after a new release.
From those values i guess that the main server
makes something around 1-2TByte traffic per month.

Hmh, peanuts... If you would say 50 Mbit/s I would have to ask some folks... but such things are doable (hint) But that server is probably too small to be true when it comes to sponsoring it and the hassle to set this up...

Setting up a server isn't a problem, we can do that ourselfs. We just need to get the hardware and a network connection :)
Thanks to all for the great response!

Hi!
I can provide ftp and http download space.
Server would be http://ftp.bay13.net
I can install an vhost, and can add ftp space also.
I am already mirroring openbsd, and Knoppix (Master rsync Mirror)
The Server would be located in Hamburg/Germany, has enough space left (what space on Disk do you need?), and is connected vie FastEthernet to the Easynet Backbone.
The http server is also connected via native IPv6 8No Tunnels on the Machine, the Easynet Network is IPv6 Native)

Thanks for the offer, but we currently have enough mirrors. It's "just" the main server that needs to be replaced.
