Hi everybody,
We've decided that we no longer have the resources to host our IRC server irc.datacomm.ch / irc.span.ch, which is connected to IRCnet (http://www.ircnet.com/).
Currently, we're the only swiss server for IRCnet.
We're looking for someone who is willing and able to run the IRC service on a machine located here in Switzerland.
Please read here for the requirements of linking a new server: http://www.ircnet.com/index.php?&p=2&mid=6&id=8
If you're interested please contact me offlist, thanks!
cheers, - Fabian

Don't turn it off yet, as I guess quite a few people are still using it. At least till a replacement is in place.
I've forwarded it along to someone who might be able to help out with this on a short term.

That's not quite true as of today :)

So, I was interested and so was IP-Man. Fabian, Greg and I got together, scored a machine, went on vacations, got sick, procrastinated and then finally today hung up a new machine in Geneva (about 200m from the Jet d'Eau :). This server is called ircnet.ipng.ch and is accessible for all LI and CH users (at least, if you have a netblock registered at RIPE NCC). If you have access issues, please contact me off-list at ircnet@ipng.ch and we'll take a look at adding a manual config entry for your network(s).
Enjoy, groet, Pim
