Hi swinog,
I have a small irrelevant (maybe naiv) nerd question:
For a little while I do have two internet connections at home (upc & fiber7) and would like to use both in parallel and learn. What is the smartes way to populate my routing table to choose the best route to various endpoints in the internet. My mikrotik router seems to have various features to play with.
I do nat have a AS numer... Can BGP be used read only to get prefixes?
Any hints to how to set this up, useful tutorials or whatsoever are appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
Lothar
Hello, Whith the Abos of UPC Cablecom (like Horizon) and I think too with a normal fiber 7 you can't have the the services BGP. I don't think any provider make this service by the low buget abos.
The second problem when you haven't an office Abo by UPC. You havn't a fix IP... By fiber 7 you must talk with Fredy.
For Lines with services BGP you must pay 1500.-- and more (every month)
When you want Surfing on this to lines. Is it possible with a Firewall like fortinet... There you can configurate it. Which line schould be used.
Greetings Xaver
