Nevertheless, how much you get paid doesn't really matter, it's about how much fun you have. The funding helps a lot in the equation, but if you get paid loads and you are not having any fun then what's the use of having loads of fun and having to spend all that money to actually have fun?

I Quite agree on that one. But I guess almost everyone around here works because there is a fun part in its work. Another fact is that if the salary is correct, it may be considered as the magic bonus if the work is cool ;)
