Cisco has built a multi-gigabit backbone for transporting HDTV signal between Vienna and Bern during the Euro08 :) only joking, no real input on the throughput. I can recommend Softronics.ch for hosting. crypto performance of cisco 2800 series vs AIM-VPN/SSL2

hi all we're troubleshooting some performance issues on a cisco 2801 with onboard crypto engine (not with an additional AIM-VPN/SSL2). the problem is that in the DMVPN setup (crypted tunnel) we have a thruput of around 4mbit with 90% of CPU. according to the cisco specs we should reach 30-40mbit of encrypted traffic... but our tests are ... well.. not that positive... do you have made similar experiences? so, does someone has a AIM-VPN/SSL2 for a cisco 2800series around which we could lend out for some days to perform some tests? greetings -steven

Hi, Is here anyone who uses the SHDSL / SHDSL.bis technology? ZyXEL IES1000 - IES5000 DSLAM chasis and SLC1216 - SLC1248-22 line cards? We have a few problems with lineprobing / rate adaption and crc errors. Or does anyone know a good paper about Signal-to-Noise Margin lineprobing / rate adaption? how to figure out the best value. try and fail doesn't work :( thanks in advance and best regards marco

Wir haben folgendes festgestellt. routing zu 195.2.228.1 von Cybernet aus, direkt via swissIX sehr gute ping zeiten. ab Bluewin geht es via tiscali.net und dort happerts...300ms und mehr. Die frage nun: Warum geht Bluewin nach SolNet via Tiscali und nicht auch direkt über swissIX ? Danke für eine Antwort. Gruss Rolf

we are (AS12333) unable to reach some site connected thru openstransit (AS5511). already happened 2 or 3 times in january-februray. it was supposed to be a faulty linecard on a path btwn geneva and paris. and supposed to be fixed. seems it's not. Bluewin DNS-Admin arround?

Hi List The new range from bluewin seems not be setup correctly in the DNS-server :~$ host 92.104.138.109 109.138.104.92.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer 109-138.104-92.cust.bluewin.ch. :~$ host 109-138.104-92.cust.bluewin.ch Host 109-138.104-92.cust.bluewin.ch not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) So a reverse lookup gives a name who doesn't exist. Here @nine.ch, this gives problems with services using libwrap (aka check agains /etc/hosts.[allow,deny]) If your IP doesn't resolve properly you are completly blocked from using services protected by this mechanisme. Can someone @bluewin please fix this. fw change on bluewin adsl accounts today?

Hello, Still trying to reach the swisscom/bluewin support since 10 minutes (and the robot keeps telling me "voraussichtliche warte zeit: 4-5 minuten" all the time), so I guess it quicker if I ask here as well. It's a simple problem: I manage a few intranet boxes (mail/webproxy) connected to the net via standard bluewin adsl lines. Everything was fine the last years until today. Remote access via ssh (NAT on the router). Since today: no way to connect any of the hosts (about 5) : ports for ssh and http seems to be closed, while some of the IP are still pingable. Maybe somebody around knows about this thing? For example: maybe they activated a firewall this night on all customers lines to prevent virus/worms problems? (I don't have a bluewin line myself, so it's hard to debug remotely) .
