A recent RIPE Labs article by Alastair Strachan explores the results of two 2026 surveys involving more than 500 NOG participants and 27 organizers across the RIPE region. The findings reinforce something many of us already experience: successful NOGs are built
on community first, conferences second.
Perhaps the most important conclusion is also the simplest:
People don't come to NOGs only for the presentations—they come for the community
